Energy Efficiency

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Professionals

Providing energy efficiency and a sustainable, healthy indoor environments are inextricably linked challenges which have been amplified by the recent pandemic and the increasing global demand for decarbonisation.
The Australian HVAC sector alone, consumes around 22% of all electricity produced, and is responsible for around 50% of peak demand on the electricity grid.

Applied as an odour filter, PlasmaShield can be utilised to achieve reduced outside air requirements via the AS1668.2 Appendix D pathway, enabling outside air flowrates to be reduced by up to 75% whilst still achieving “deemed to satisfy” (DTS) compliance. This presents an opportunity to demonstrate “improvement” on DTS flowrates and enhanced indoor air quality, without the load and energy premium usually associated with increased outside air flowrates.

Our controlled studies implementing PlasmaShield® in a 10,000m2 office building in Adelaide, SA with the aim of reducing the outside air while meeting the NCC & AS1668.2 Deemed To Satisfy requirements, yielded the following savings:

PlasmaShield® enables Energy Efficiency & Sustainability

PlasmaShield® enables Energy Efficiency & Sustainability Professionals to use our industry compliant product integration and utility tools which help quantify CO2 emissions, energy, peak load, and capital cost reductions in order to optimise and customise the ventilation configuration to suit objectives of each project.

This approach opens previously unseen opportunities to deliver indoor air quality enhancements as well as energy and peak load improvements.
